Emissions testing in Washington
Ok I want to put the good ol 5.0 in my 89 B2 but I need to know how anyone who lives in washington gets thier rig to pass. Does it pass just because you put all the emissions stuff on or is there a waiver out there to not have to test? This is the last of what I need to know before attempting the swap!

Well in Skagit county there is no emissions testing. That's how I got away with it. I also used an engine that was older than the bronco, which is a no no. I believe the engine has to be the same year or newer. Then you have to use all the emmissions stuff that came with the engine. I'm sure some it can be fudged a little. Really, there's not that much stuff that has to be hooked up.
I'm putting a 92 5.0L HO in my EB right now. If I can make it fit, I'm probably going to run the EGR, but not the cats.

There is a waiver, but you be excluded if you modify the stock emmissions components on your engine.
To qualify for the waiver, you have to fail the first test, spend a minimum of $150 at an authorized repair facility, then fail a second test. Then you get to do the same thing every two years.
