anyone know how to take the fan off?

im swappin 2.9's at the moment ( i like to keep my b2 a little original) and i cant get that fricken fan off... its really p**ing me off :mad: .. anyone know?

looking from above, you have a space between the fan and motor (duh), look down into the space and you should see the shaft of the fan. it mnight be odl and oily and dirty, but is a hexagonal shaft. put a wrench on it, and left hand thread. don't have a wrench that big? vise-grips, or a strapwrench worked for me. helps if you have the belts hooked up i guess.

If this is the fan on the fan clutch then you will have to use a ford tool for this. It consists of a wide u shaped wrench that goes over the 4 bolts of the fan clutch. The use a large wrench to go over the hexagon shaft and it is turned opposite of normal. I hope that makes sense.
