I have access to a 91 Explorer lift brand new in box. I highly dought it but will this lift just bolt up to my 86 Bronco 2?
Thank you fr all the info i will need alot of it for this stuff. I tried the search. couldnt find much.
Explorer lift
As best I remember the BroncoII uses all the same length body bushings. The explorer has 2 more I think, if they are all the same length and there is enough of them it will work. I know the radiator support bushings are the same from 88BroncoII to a 92 Explorer because that is where mine came from.

you will find the problem will be in hte bolt holes for your rear springs...but if you use springs from an explorer and grab the bolts for it, then it should work.... note the use of explorer springs for gaining 1.5 inches of lift for a bronco II..... from the home page states there that the bolts for the bronco will not work on explorer springs, so the questions here is will the bronco bolts work in the explorer lift where the bronco springs attach the rear axle... there might be a problem there, but if there is you could get those springs form a junk yard and add to the lift an additional amount of height.....
the answer(and im sure im to late on this) is the front drop brackets should be identical because the BII uses a D28 and the Explorer uses a D35 and I know for a fact that the d28 and D35 are interchangeable(good upgrade for BII)
if the kit comes with leafs then the rear leafs will work just fine but you will need to flip the p[ositioning bold over because the explorer is axle under and the BII is axle over for the mounting points..
The Lift height will be identical contrary to popular belief you get no extra lift from using explorer springs because on an explorer the shackles mount under the frame and on a BII they mount on the side negating the 1.5", you wil however come back to a factory ride height because the spring is stiffer(for the heavier explorer) and the BII springs tend to sag A LOT(mine used to sag about 2.5")
you may however run into a few odd issues like bolt lengths and some of the extensions such as brake lines may not work im not sure if that would be the case and they probably would all be fine but thats minor crap anyhow :)

Well, not exactly.
Yes the Explorer mounts it's springs in a different location giving it a higher ride height at the get go. However, the Explorer spring is a stiffer/longer spring and will give you about an inch to 1 1/2 inches compared to a stock, not sagging, BII spring pack. If your springs sag (as mine did,) the lift will be a little more.
I have actually done this with two brand new sets of springs. The new BII springs lifted the truck about an inch, and the Explorer springs gave about an inch and a half more. This was within about a week or two and on the same vehicle.
In effect, the factory spring will fit a 30 inch tire nicely but not a 31. With the Explorer springs 31s fit great.
