Emision Control relays

Post by Willie Two »

Can someone send me in the right direction to find more info on the relays that are located on the inner fender of the passenger side. I want to smooth out the running of my new found truck before I tackle anything else. I have a Haynes manual but of course this info is somewhat incomplete.

info on relays

one of the three relays is for your fuel pump it should have 4 wires in it, another is the ecc relay which is powered on by ignition switch and on my 1989 bronco II it has 5 wires on it 2 attached to one contact point. the third relay is a starter relay...... for further assistance check your chilton or haynes manual and refer to the color of the wires that go with the coinciding ones on the relays.........refer by motor and year in most because the colors will vary depending on the years.

as far as helping to run you might find on some models 2 relays feeding fuel pumps on rangers.......and some older B II's with the dual fuel pumps unsure if they had 2 relays......
