v8 motor swap

Post by 3barSranch »

i have been reading up on how to do a v8 motor swap into my 86 b2. most of it seems pretty much straght forward. the only thing i need some help with the trans and transfer case. i cant afford one of thoes $500 adapter deals. how can i get around this. is there a simple fix or am i looking at changing the whole drivetrain.
thanks yall

Change it all because its cheaper in the long run. The t case in the bronco II is strong but 500 bucks is alot for a adaptor. But dont think you can do the swap for cheap it cost me about 2000 bucks and i did mine for off road only.

I opted to just change the whole drive-train... this can be a bit difficult to find t-cases that will fit... Rockcrawler and DBrown will probably know all the models off hand but I ended up using a 1356 and notched the frame a bit to fit it since I wont be doing any super hardcore stuff this worked for me :)

So in the ned I have a 5.0L carbed a M5R2 5spd tranny and BW1356 T-Case from a f-250 and a 8.8 from an explorer in the rear
