converting from cv driveshaft to u-joint style
converting from cv driveshaft to u-joint style
my original cv driveshaft is 31" long, flange to flange. My new u-joint drive shaft goes from about 30" to 33". Will this work? Can I just unbolt the old one and bolt in the new one? Is there anything else I should watch out for? Thanks.
i just did this on the weekend. it took all of about 11 minutes to install - it took so long because i used a torque wrench
. yes, it just bolts right in, and will perform great. I replaced mine with a brand new double cardan spicer driveshaft. if you have any more questions, don't hesitate to ask.
old $hitty shaft, and new spicer shaft.

i got mine from alberta driveline, and it was $550 cdn. (with shipp).
I guess you could say i went the expensive route, and some might say i got raped; however i had no yards to pick from, and now my Brand new spicer has a three year warranty, and also the wife paid for it
you can get what you need from napa in the states.

sorry buddy, i'm kinda far away from everything - unless you live in alaska or the northwest territorries. the joint on the diff end is hooped - it squeaks like a fanbelt all the time. the boot is sliced open, and i reached in and picked out a bunch of gravel and sand mud etc. i was kinda thinking of keeping it as a spare, but then the wife said why would need one? so i then realized the only spares i need to bring mudding are spare u joints.
why would you want it anyway?

where do you live (exactly, not just "FL" or 'alberta")
i estimate this is not gfoing to be cheap to ship, within the country or not. it probably weighs 50 lbs plus. i don't know what i want for it, but you could make an offer. email me at cabinfevrr@yahoo.ca if you really are serious. if you are willing to pay all of the shipping, including purchasing it from me, we can talk. no, it is not my garbage, however i didnt say i was throwing it out either.
think about it, i did say it is worn out.
