I have a 87 bII auto 4x. when im driving down the road there is this strange rattle that occures. it dosnt vibrate thru the steering and dosnt change when i am turning. dont think its a cv for that reason. it happens in 4h 4l or 2drive. new steering linkage in the front. went thru deq with no problems. reading were lower than what is required for the state. happens when its dry or on wet road.
anyone have any ideas?
thanks
rattle in the front end
check your tires for proprer balence or may sound stupid but look for something loose that may just need tightened like dash or a plastic shield under the hood or an exhuast shield start out with cheap and simple then work your way up
also if it had automatic locking hubs they could be malfunctioning might want to jack up front end and try to spin the front wheels while in 2wd and if the axle shafts turn turing the drive shaft then you will probley have a hub problem
one more think that happened to me and hopefully you wont see this is lig nuts were to tight and stripped out lug studs ruinning the rotor and rim cuasign me alot of time and money to get all that replaced and to cut off all the lugnuts
