2.9L EFI into an 85 BroncoII

Post by RichM »

Has anyone placed a 2.9L EFI engine into an 85 BroncoII? I have an 85 BroncoII with a blown 2.8L, and I have a 87 Ranger with a good 2.9L EFI for a donor. What are the do's and dont's. RichM

That should be an easy swap as far as swaps go. If you have a working donor, i would pull the engine and wiring harness out then slap it in the 85. For easiest swap have both right next to eachother so you can see where everything was taken from and where it would go. I know that was very generic, but it can be that easy.

[quote="RichM"][quote="RichM"]This sounds good.

I am concerned that the 85 is carburated and the donor 2.9L is EFI, does anyone know what needs to be done on the fuel lines?

Take all the fuel lines, the intake pump from the fuel system.
