I know. I've bought two packs already. They come two long, and two short. My B-II takes four long. My F-150, which also needs the bushings replaced. At least I only need two for the truck.

Re: Rear Hatch alignment problem
[quote="Colin"]Now I cannot even open my hatch. The latch just turns round and round after I insert the key, and does absolutely nothing! I managed to get the inside trim off the hatch and removed the glass latch so I can now manually open the glass without using key or latch. Not sure what to do ...

Re: Rear Hatch alignment problem
Thanks all. The problem with the hatch (and the doors, as well) has been resolved. I installed the new plastic pieces and (miraculously) the light switch works and the hatch aligns correctly. I guess, being fiberglass, it bends to fit! And the driver's door no longer rattles! All for less than $4.00 ...

Re: Rear Hatch alignment problem
I picked up a pack of the bushings for $3.95 at AUtoZone earlier this week. Haven't had time to put them on yet, what with the snow, my 82 F-150 catching fire and burning up the clutch plate, and my wood pile needing attention. It's sunny and warmer today, so I might get all of that done!

Re: 84 bronco 2 top speed 40-45mph????
That was what changed it from chugging up the mountain to taking most of them in 4th or 3rd (I live on a twisty mountain). That was 2007, and I've had no other problem with speed since then, so I'll go with that explannation. Sure is fun on days like we're having here in the hills lately!

Re: Rear Hatch alignment problem
Joeyy, on my 88 the switch was always a sometime thing. I would almost always have to jiggle it when I had the hatch open, to make it work. I replaced it (Federated Auto Parts) for $10.00. That one operates the same way. Since I've had the newer problem (not turning off), I've just pulled the switch ...

Re: Rear Hatch alignment problem
To both replies: The body mounts may be worn. I'll have to check that. The only adjustment for the hatch that I can see aside from the striker, is where the hinges attach to the hatch. They only allow up and down movement. What other adjustment is there for the hinge? About the striker: I took mine ...

Rear Hatch alignment problem
Recently the interior lights on my 88 B-II started coming on when the doors and hatch were closed. I finally traced it to the switch controlled by the hatch. The hatch itself seems to have changed its relationship to the switch. It no longer closes tightly enough to press on the switch. I can adjust ...

Re: 84 bronco 2 top speed 40-45mph????
If you changed from stock to larger tires/wheels, then you need to correct your speedomoter drive, I think. When I bought my 88 it had larger tires on stock wheels, and would quikcly run out of speed. I replaced the tires with OEM size, and now it cruises easily at 70.

Re: No tail lamp, dash illumination power
When that happened to my B-II (88), I was driving home through the mountains! It was the headlight switch that went bad. Easy fix, but nothing that I've tried will improve the brightness of the instrument lighting. I'd like to replace the bulbs with brighter ones, but don't know what to substitute.

I knew it! That's what the big wind-up key was for! Thought it was just a leftover from a Jimmy, and threw it away.

Exactly where the name says: Highland County (Population 2,385). Just get on US 250 and go west till you can't go any further and still be in VA! Great place for Broncos as general transportation, especially this morning: hard crusty snow. Only had to run my plow once yesterday (the one on the F-150 ...

Cruise control
Good place to start. I do know that there are some loose wires under there, and there is a switch that I think is for an electric trailer brake. I have identified some of those wires as being cut out from somewhere else. Makes sense that it would be the cruise control. Spring is coming and I will ...
