Re: A Few Questions about my BII
Thanks Dave... It's NOT sagging, but I'm sure after 21 years that they're a bit tired. I did load the truck up with tons of tile a few times that really stressed those springs. But they still look OK... Hate to sound stupid here (I'm a expert in the 3 series BMW 84-91, but that doesn't help me much ...

A Few Questions about my BII
Hi All... I want to change the shocks in my BII to the most comfortable ride I can get. I don't do any offroading with it, and mostly use it for local work, running around and that sort of thing. Every once in a while, I take a nice long trip with it. The truck's got 150K, I've replaced the shocks ...

Thanks! It's not perfect, and this has been a bizarre summer, so after I bent most of it back, I just didn't have time for anything else. i have all of the paint and touch up paint here, and I think when I'm ready to do that, I'll take the panels off as you suggested, and give the thing a few final ...

Thanks Hair... I already DID it yesterday! And it's nice and quiet! And yes, with some gentle pushing with my fingers or a tiny bit of tapping with a small rubber mallet, the ripples will be gone. I do agree with you that I still have to eek it along a tiny bit more, but only 1/8 of an inch on the ...

UPDATE!
Well, I went to the original body shop in town that had looked at it. They couldn't do it cause... They OUT OF BUSINESS! So I went to the expensive shop next door, (there are only 2 shops here now), and the first quote was $1,100.00. Yea, right. So, as I started to walk away laughing, the guy went ...

OK, I finally got started, a bit... just to see where I stood. You're all right about it primarily just being sheet metal. I removed the taillight to take a look, then removed the tire and swing arm from it's hinges. The hinges are bolted to supports behind. No biggie. I honestly thought that there ...

Thanks guys... I'm less concerned about the body work as I am about the alignment of the door vs the taillight side. The door isn't sealing correctly nor is it locking correctly. The claws that grab the door pins are not grabbing the right side completely, and there's tons of wind noise and the door ...

OK, pics: http://www.vailsoft.com/bii/72.jpg http://www.vailsoft.com/bii/73.jpg http://www.vailsoft.com/bii/74.jpg You can see the ripples. The car's pretty nice and I don't want to hack away at it too much if I can avoid it! You can also see where the left tip of the plow scratched the back door ...

Side's Bent... Need Some Help... PLEASE!
Howdy... OK, a little history... The car's a 1988 Bronco II 4x4 XLT. On the rear, it has the swingarm for the spare tire. Last winter, someone with a snowplow that I know, hit the swingarm, which was open, with the plow. Of course, it was a mistake, and he fessed up to it the next day. The blow bent ...

Well, maybe!
I spent SOOOOOO much restoring my BMW. Did all of it myself, except for the painting which I had Maaco do, after removing EVERYTHING from the car and doing most of the body work myself. I'm just happy to have the Bronco II working properly now. The next project is front discs and pads but it'll be a ...

Done!
well, the rear brakes are done. Thanks for all the jacking help etc. The cables were frozen solid, the right shoes were down to the bottom of the rivits, the right drum had a 1/8 in score from the rivets! The left side wasn't so bad, but that cable was frozen as well. For the first time since I got ...

Well, I'm goin in!
Thanks for all the posts. I'm at a dangerous level with the back breakes. When I bought the car, I took it to Big O tires cause the tires were dry-rotted and completely cracked. I had them do the brakes too. There was an annoying problem in the car with the emergency brake pedal not bouncing back ...

Thanks for the Speedy Reply!
I guess TTB is the transfer case? What if you have to get under the car? Isn't there any way to jack it up level and get stands inderneath it? I know what you're saying though. The last time I did it, I had a REALLY tough time and never DID get it up level. There's got to be a good way of doing it ...
