Sorry, I should have updated you guys sooner. I found the problem quite some time ago. I was missing a ground, therefore I didn't have spark. Somehow the ground had got cut off the main harness so I never saw it. I had to do some digging and finally came up with a very short exposed wire which was ...

No Spark

O.k., I finally got everything working on the 4.0 in my 88 B2 but when I crank the B2 over I found that I have no spark. The plug that goes from the ICM to the coil pack has power going through it. The 4.0 harness is from a 1994 Explorer. Anyone have any ideas?

Well, I got power to my ignition which means I have power to my headlights, wipers, radio, etc. ;) I found that I did not have the ignition wires from the B2 harness hooked to the starter solenoid. Once I found this out I had power to my cab. Well, I about celebrated once this happened as I figured ...

I looked at my manuals again. The constant yellow wire that goes to the ignition in both the Explorer and Bronco II is hot at all times according to the schematic. After I got looking at it, I don't think that I hooked the explorer harness ignition wire to my ignition to make it hot. Would this ...

I do have EVTM manuals for both the donor vehicle and my Bronco II. I guess what I don't understand is why when I hook up my red/green wires together it is supossed to power everything in the cab like you say but I have nothing. Obviously something is being overlooked. Yes, I am new to this. I can ...

Does anyone have a running 4.0 in their Bronco II?

O.k., I am having some trouble with my swap and not receiving much input so I am hoping someone can offer me some advice. My 4.0 out of a 1994 Explorer is in my 1988 Bronco II and all hooked up so I would have said the hard part is done until it won't start. It seems like I don't have power to ...

Questions for ones who have done 4.0 swap

O.k. I have placed the 4.0L engine from a 1994 Explorer into my 1988 Bronco II this weekend. I am in the process of getting everything wired up and have a couple of questions. I think I have the wiring process down to get the motor to start so my questions lie in the power windows and door locks as ...

One other question I just thought of. Will my exhaust y-pipe bolt up to the 4.0 engine manifolds? Again, some say they will and other say they don't. I just spent $400 on having a dual exhast system fabricated and hope it will still work. I have the factory y-pipe with the cats and a quality muffler ...

A couple 4.0 swap questions

O.k., a lot of you probley know I ended up putting another 2.9L engine in my 1988 Bronco II this summer because we couldn't diagnose the power problems we were having. Well, as luck would have it, I drove about 700 miles on the replacement engine and now it is knocking so bad I fear it will throw a ...

You can probley run as long as you want. I had mine disconnected for awhile and didn't have any problems. The only thing I noticed was that it ran richer and often at stop lights it would idle too low and die. Once I put a new one back on it ran great.

If it makes any difference you could call your local Ford dealer depending on what type of questions you have. I live in Nebraska and call Anderson Ford for technical questions from time to time and they have always gladly let me speak to a mechanic. I am not sure what type of help you are looking ...

I would check ebay. I have found a lot of stuff on there that I couldn't find anywhere else. If it isn't on there right away, check back in a week or so. New stuff is listed daily.

Automatic transmission wiring routing troubles

As most of you know I put an entirely different engine in my 1988 Bronco II after I could not diagnose the problem. Well, the engine is finally almost hooked up (not much time to work on it since I work all day) but I am having one little problem. There are two wire plugs going to the tranny. The ...
