Yeah I thought .60 was a bit to much but he told me two of my cylinders were in bad shape. He said older motors like this are ok to bore out that much but he said if it was a newer motor he would not of done this. This machine shop that did it for me the guy who does the work really knows what he is...

Yea I have a 2.8 in a Bronco II someone gave me and it leaked and burned oil like a Mutha! I went through 2 quarts of oil within 30 miles or less. You actually can bore the cylinders out on these blocks more than .30 over. I had my bored .60 over and I have never had it overheat before. I have a bra...

I guess u gotta do the best you can with the money you have. I dont have to worry about mine though for a whole year after the 90 day warranty since I bought a 1 year no bullshit exchange if it craps out. But I dont have very big mud tires but they do have a lot of tread left on them but that winch ...

I agree that rtv sealent is overused sometimes but sometimes you just have to use the stuff to seal up some parts. On the 2.8 and the valve covers you better use it or you will be going through a lot of trouble to redo the job. I dont know why the 2.8 has such a hard time sealing around those covers...

What year truck is it. If it is a 2.8 v6 and your missing your hold down clamp I have a spare one that I would be glad to send you. When I was rebuilding my 2.8 I lost the distributor hold down clamp and I must tell ya they are not easy to find and you cant just buy one from an auto parts place and ...

I have a stock 84 Bronco II and I was able to fit 31's on it without a problem. I now have p235 15 inch rims on it now because the 31's were not mud tires and I got the small mud tires from someone really cheap! He bought a vehicle and the dealer put new mud tires on it but he didnt like them and th...

On the 2.8 you gotta use black rtv sealent on the oil pan to get it to seal up. I used it on the top and bottom of the gasket and so far after a year I have no oil leaks. You also got to do the same with the valve cover gaskets or the valve covers will leak as if no gasket is there. From what I have...

I have a 1984 BII with the 2.8. I said in another post to avoid doing any major work to the engine because it really isnt that great of an engine. People say that they arent that powerful but I will say that I have been offroad with mine a few times now and have gone through some pretty thick stuff ...

The winch speed is a little slow but it saved my ass again tonight! They are actually not that dissapointed in the speed of the winch. Sure it is a little slower but like you said all that matters is that it got me out! :D

Yes it is an aftermarket mod. I dont know the exact cost but it will eliminate the need to adjust valves and will get rid of that tapping sound.

Cheap but good winch

Last week I bought from Harbor Freight tools a chicago 8000 lb winch and I have read reviews where you either love them or hate them. Well I love it! The winch listed for 399.00 but was on sale for 299 and then I had a coupon for 20% off a single item. I didnt like the 90 day warranty so I bought a ...

All the strange noises you are hearing are from the noisy solid lifters. Once you get them adjusted just right they arent so bad. You will never though copletley get rid of the noise but you will almost eliminate it. The only sure way to get rid of the noise would be to switch to a roller cam and li...

I guess it is to late now because you have done the work but the best gaskets to use would be the felpro rubber gaskets. Oh and dont use them dry because they will leak and I know from experience. Use some Black rtv sealent and apply it to the top and bottom of the gasket and when you tighten the va...

Using an A/C compressor as an air compressor

I am interested in connected an A/C compressor to my Bronco II and using it as an air compressor but want to know how to do it. It is an 84 with a 2.8.
