Im still sitting here trying to figure out what the problem is. I had a thought that it might be the spark plugs. Is it possible that with a bad spark plug it would idle but not raise rpms when given throttle. I was reading alittle only and it was not totally clear online. Thanks. And im gonna post ...

I took a look at the distributor and could find nothing like that around it. No wires lead to the distributor besides the sparkplug wires and the one sparkplug wire in the middle. Nothing is behind it on the firewall either. Sorry im sure its getting frustrating lol... I can put up pics of around ...

I turned it both forward and backward and nothing changed. When i turned it so that it opened the butterfly it stayed open and would die when i gave it throttle(butterfly stayed open if when given throtle). then no change when i tightened it to make it keep the butterfly close. When you mean turn it you mean the black portion of the choke oven and then tighten the screws down so its perm turned? Thanks

Yes im in Tucson, AZ, It has two normal screws but then a pin through the 3rd screwhole. Dont know if i should just break it off and only run with the two screws. Havent tried turning it yet, will do so after work. Thanks.

The choke opens when I give it throttle. Also there is a hose the runs from the side of it the carb. I will try the starter fluid later today.

chucknti- Thats a sweet set up. Im definitly trying to keep this as cheap as it can be. only paid 200 for the truck and have put about 150 into it.
