i had the same problem a few years ago. i got in the truck and drove about 3 miles and did the same thing yours did. i would take it off and check the alt again
OK pulled the tank down and its got a thick layer or rust in it, and the pump screen as been ate away. i went and bought a pump and tank. thanks rangerdave
how do i check the pump in tank without dropping the tank?
the truck sat for almost two years and obviously ran before the previous owner popped the motor.
first off i would try and go to pullapart and get you a new module for around 40 bucks, and you can get another motor for about 20 bucks if you need it
you shouldn't need a socket on auto hubs only manual ones. i just used a magnet to pull the little key out of the space in the nut. i used a pair of channel locks to get the nut loose. hope this helps check out a Chilton manual
