Re: 1990 Bronco II 2.9 L swap to 1999 3.0 L Ranger Engine.
Rangers have 3.0's. I think they dropped the 4.0 some time ago even though on their website they say it's still an option. The 3.0 uses a different bell housing than our 2.9's or 4.0's I think so you'd have to find a 4x4 setup (tranny and tcase) out of a Ranger and swap that in as well. I think you ...

Re: New guy
Yeah man sweet you got a pre-made Choptop B2.
I'm gonna have to do that eventually but I wanna make it into sort of a B.R.A.T. kind of thing with the enclosed front cab and 2 rear facing seats in the bed and make a good 'vert top for it. All in good time...

Re: 1988 Bronco II shuts off all of a sudden lately
Yeah the ignition modules are sensitive to heat no matter what kind of car you're talking about. We had your exact problem happen in our '78 Eldorado Biarritz and had to have it towed home. Took the distributor apart and a faulty ignition module was the culprit. The older they get the weaker they ...

Re: '89 BII 2.9 lifter-tick at cold startup.
you own stock in them too??? You betcha. STP seems pretty good, my gramps likes STP. I used their injector cleaner when I got the rig and mine was such a pile I didn't really notice anything. Now that it's much healthier it probably would be pretty good, except I'm already using Lucas Injector ...

Re: '89 BII 2.9 lifter-tick at cold startup.
Yeah almost all 2.9's have a tick. Think of it as the lifeline of your rig. When the tick stops the life is gone. I use Lucas Oil in the engine, Lucas Gas Treatment in the tank, Lucas Tranny Fluid in the A4LD, everything I have is Lucas oil and I swear by it. I drove my last A4LD for months (after ...

Re: 1988 bronco11, bad gas milege
My BII gets anywhere from 6-14 depending on the season. When it's -50 outside it has to warm up a lot longer so I consequently get bad mileage. In the summer when it's 70 out I get 14. This is all city mileage. I'm looking into an HHO Generator and see if that works and hopefully get 8 or 9 in ...

Re: Clearence for 31's
The D-35 swap is a direct bolt in you only have to modify your driveshaft if you've got stock lift. There's a point (I think 4'' suspension) that makes this equal so you won't have to modify anything if you have a lift. The D-35 you just unbolt hub to hub and bolt it back in, you can have a TTB ...

Re: Fuel pump issue....New Bronco II and need some advice
If you have the means to do both do them. Otherwise just do the high pressure one on the frame rail, I've got that setup now course my low pressure one seems to be fine. I'm gonna replace it asap the low pressure ones are fairly cheap.

Sounds like an ignition problem. Have you checked for spark when this happens?
