Trail Fix

Post by Nobody »

It's been awhile since I shared this one. It's my all time favorite trail fix.

A few years ago my wife and I were way up in the mountains around Mt Baker. We were climbing up an old forest service rd when my engine let out big backfire and promptly died. I knew it couldn't be good.

So I told the wife to make us some lunch. After lunch I did a little trouble shooting and found I had no spark. Upon further investigation, I found that the contact on my rotor had fallen off and was ground up by the distributor. No chance of repair! :o

I pulled out my tool box and did an inventory of what I had to work with. I knew I had to figure something out or it was going to be very long walk out.....20+ miles.

This is what I came with. I used my feeler guage and made a new contact. Much to my surprise, it actually worked!! I drove the 20+ miles back to the paved road, then another 40-50 miles back to the nearest parts store. Ran pretty damn good considering.
