Rear Driveshaft

Post by K4irk »

I removed both driveshafts several months ago when removing the transmission on my 1990. I rebuilt the transmission and put it and the transfer case back in but now I can't remember which way the rear driveshaft goes back on. Does the slip joint go closer to the rear axle or the transfer case and does it matter?
Thank you for any input.

I believe the slip or extra bit goes forward, towards the t-case.

Like this:

(T-case). 0===~=========0. (diff)

If that makes sense…

It technically doesn't matter, but I like the slip closer to the r-case.
