86 B2 fuel guage/sending unit?

Post by danboy282 »

the fuel gauge on my 86 B2 Eddie Bauer doesn't work. Is the sending unit in the fuel tank? If yes, do i have to drop the tank to get to it?

Thanks again

Drop it, or cut an access hole in the floor :redneck:

did it stop working suddenly or start reading too low then finally quit? check the wires on the back of the gauge cluster for a bad connection. while thats out put an ohm meter on the wires and measure the resistance to the sending unit. if i remember it should be 10 ohm for full tank and 70 for empty. i could be wrong but if its really high or reads as a broken circuit then ur sending unit is bad.
