engine problem
I just replaced my old carb bec it always stalled out accelerating some times. i put an other carb on that was rebuilt that works on my buddy truck and the problem started. now whatever carb i put on there brand new, old one my buddys carb they all do the same thing. When i go to start her up she takes awhile to crack over but once she fires and starts running she starts idling higher and higher up to about 3000 rpms they the rpms start droping the motor slows down and rpms go below 700- and stalled out from there. and after that she is very hard to start. One thing i cant explain well its the sounds like i have a turbo charger on it the noise it loader than the motor of like a vacuum leak. what could it be. anyone got any ideas or any ?S plz help. ty
Re: engine problem
can you keep it running by hitting the throttle? check the float bowl for a clogged needle valve. might be getting way too much fuel and then flooding out.

Re: engine problem
did you replace the base gasket when you changed to carbs. if it sounds like a vacuum leak then it probably is. if it is running way rich then it should smoke out the tail pipe and smell like it is flooding. i would say vacuum leak though. as for the slow crank, check your cable connections on battery, starter, and ground. corrosion and loose fittings can cause slow crank.
