2.8l v6 1984 overheating?
2.8l v6 1984 overheating?
I was having problems with my bronco 2 overheating and so I changed the thermostat. Now, while I run it, the temperature stays just below the N in normal, but if I shut it off and try to turn it on again the temperature has risen really high. there are no leaks, the radiator is full off coolant. I think there might be a problem with the temperature sensor because I was driving it and the temperature gauge was reading as if it were super hot, but there was no boiling over or steam-- it was running fine, it just said it was really hot. Why would it heat up when it was turned off? Could the temp sensor be wrong? If it was really that hot wouldn't something bad have happened by now? im confused... thanks!

these have a bottom t-stat in the water pump housing. it's good to fill thru the heater hose. still could be the sensor or gauge or two t-stats.
