Movement in Front Spline Shafts Is this ok?

Post by tonymasone »

Put on some new calipers and pads yesterday and noticed that when I grab the Spline shaft for the 4wd on the front driver side or passenger side, they wobble a little and you can reach behind the rotors and grab the drive shafts and wiggle them just a tad and see the spline shaft wobble just a little. The movement seems almost completely the same on both sides. Is this something that should happen?

thanks

I guess my question is, how would I know if the bearing is bad?

Sorry for not giving the best description:

Looking at that photo and the shaft I've highlighted, If I grab that splined shaft with my hand I can just slightly wobble it. This feels the same on both sides I was just wondering if that movement is natural, or maybe I have an issue.
