tranny swap

i just bought another 85 bronco and wanna put its 5 speed manual tranny in my other 85 thats auto how hard is this swap going to be and what will i need to modify to add aa clutch petal?

You shouldn't need to modify anything. Pull all the parts from the BII with the 5spd and put them in your driver.

sorry to jump in on your topic but how hard would it be to go from a 5 speed to an automatic?

well it be bout the same a lil heavier of course but you mmould need to run different coolant lines but the plus would be not worrying bout the clutch reassembly

so you would need to swich the radiator(or are the cooler line holes on the radiator just pluged),cooler lines,the flywheel,and all the shift linkage that shouldnt be that hard to change cause it comes up from the same hole.

its a straight forward swap. you have everything you need, take from one and put in the other

i dont actualy know.my buddy has an 87 ranger and ever since i got the bronco hes wanted me to swap transmisions with me.im just trying to find out if its possible.like if there is electrical conections or vacum hoses that im not going to have.how dop i find out what kind of transmission he has?

87 Ranger?? ist a A4LD. if its the stock tranny

ide would test drive his ranger to make sure the A4LD is ok. they werent that good of a tranny
