I've got an 89 BII with nonmovable backglass. Got shattered by rock from lawnmower. Must replace. Anybody got any cool secrets in how to do this without driving yourself crazy? I googled it and found almost nothing.
I've got to remove the glass from my parts truck and then put it into my project bronco. So I need advice on both sides of the job. thanks. [img] [img]

I pulled mine out a couple months ago and the main thing to worry about is the weather striping. You need to do it either on a hot day or use a blow dryer or heat gun to get the glue to seperate. You just need to undue the nuts on the inside of the glass and starting at the bottom corner pull the glass out and start seperating the striping from the body. Be carefull not to flex the window out more than 1" as this can shatter the glass. Just take your time and good luck this is really not something to be rushed.
sounds good. When the original glass got shattered I pulled the stripping out/off the frame as it was filled with jagged glass remnants. I was planning on using the stripping from the parts truck and the window that goes with it. Your post seems to suggest pullling the window but leaving the gasket/stripping in place. Also, I don't recall ever even seeing any bolts anywhere when I pulled the stripping out of the hole.

Thats odd I think there are about ten nuts on the inside of the window you may have to pull the interior plastic away from the body to get to them I'm not sure since mine was already stripped inside before I did this. Also if you can get the weather striping to stick on the glass when you pull it that would be easier and hopefully you can keep it in one piece.
