1987 bronco II, 2.9L overdrive 4x4, manual 5 speed
so ive fixed all of the exposed wires and cleaned all of the connectors to and from the starter, starter relay, and the battery. And it keeps shorting out, i have to disconnect the brand new battery, reconnect it, check for spark on the starter relay. then it will start like a pro, but if i shut it off, most of the time, i have to start the process all over again.
very frustrating, any suggestions.
and how might you check/change the transmission fluid?
why does my bronco do this...
Re: why does my bronco do this...
I have no clue about your electrical problem
But
Heres a few good write ups for your tranny

Being a manual tranny there should be a plug on the top side of it you can stick your finger in and feel for it. If you cant feel it u need to add. I would suggest just changing it.

i had to take appart the relay completley and clean all the metal, so i could get a straight solid connection
