I don't know if this could be done but have any of you done/ heard of....Taking out the belt driven fan and putting in an electric one?

You mean taking off the mecanical fan and putting in a electric fan? I did it with my bronco to cool my 5.0 and i run two fans on it.

nope pretty easy. i would wire up a relay so it will turn on by itself
