84 Bronco II Hesitation

Post by mwehrle »

I just put a new carb on my 84 BII. It has a flat spot on initial excelleration. It's running very lean. Anyone ever encounter this?

stock style carb or a newer better one

might want to check fuel filter and tps sensor and possible the idle control mixture sylinoid

look down throat of carb and move the throttle do you see a strong spray of fuel

Sounds if though you may have a vacuum leak. Recheck your connections from your install.

I think it may be a vacuum leak. Although I leaned out the mixture and used propane around all gaskets and hoses with no difference to the idle. I'm going to change the fuel filter and see if that helps.

could have a float stuck in the upward possition try tapping the carb lightly with a hammer and see if it makes a difference also could have a pinched furl line or a fuel pump on the fritz
