how much?
i was wondering how much trouble and how much money does it costs to drop a 302 into my 86 bII......if anyone can help i would appreciate it
It really depends on what you want and your fab skills. Unfortunately, you'll need a transmission and possibly transfercase and adapters to go with that V8, so that's some added cost.
Otherwise depending on what components you use and whether it's carbed or FI. I think it could be done for a few hundred, but in reality, I'd plan for $1,500 or more.
I'd start by researching the components you want to use and start adding it up. There are just to many different directions to go to pin down a cost.

I used a carbed 302 and made my own engine mounts used the tranmission and T-case out of a F-250 and my total cost including a new clutch probably ended up being $1000cdn or a little less took me a total of a week working 4 hours at a time
