Is there anything special I need to know about one 1990 Bronco II compaired to another when swapping transfer cases? Are they interchangable between automatic and manual trans?
Do I need to match any tag numbers or anything else?
Transfer Case Fit
I know people swap the autos for manuals all the time, so I don't think that's an issue.
All 1354 cases have a fixed yoke front output, which mates (I think always) with a double cardan front driveshaft. Almost all 1350 cases have a slip yoke front output, and these as far as I have seen always mate with single u-joint front shafts.
I swapped out a 1350 from my '88 in favor of a 1354 from a '93 Ranger. I used the Rangers front driveshaft (in my case ir was the perfect length w/ the d44).
