Don't know, but there is nothing that time an money won't modifiy. We went to trade our 86 B II 5 speed for a new one in 1990. Had to order it and when it came in, it came with auto hubs an motorized transfer case, ( ordered M-hubs, with a floor lever). Needless to say we still to this day own the 86 we bought new. The salesman said what if your wife drives into a mud hole, she then has to get out an lock the hubs, to which I replied, if she drives into the mud hole without the hubs locks she need to get muddy for being stupid in the first place.
I'd look at the transfer case of yours, then one that has the lever. I believe you can change it over w/o much trouble at all. The floor opening is bigger on the lever models, but everything else I believe can be had from a donor. The motor operated ones, (when they first came out) had to be ajusted correctly or the motors would fail offen, at the rate of $150.00-175.00 per pop. There is ajustment on the levers models as well, but it's about as hard as breathing.
Good luck,

Re: 87 2.9 electrical problem....
Thanks for the info. I've spoke with several different people and they have told me to get rid of the motorized transfer case and just swap it out with one that has the lever. It's not that difficult of a swap from what i can tell. Then only problem that i can see that might have is mine is a automatic and the lever for that transfer case is in the same spot as my shifter. On the B2s that have the lever for the 4x4 and are auto the shifter is off set a little to the right. I've called a few junk yards and i can pick up one for aroun 150 bucks and the hubs for around 40 for both. i just don't trust the push button. Ive owned 2 different 4x4 with the push button and they never seem to work when i need them.
