I don't know personally but I don't think I would try to tow anything more than a jetski. The bronco II is just too short in wheelbase to "Safely" tow anything more than that.
I am just a bit opininated on this as I have been in the middle of just something like that. Trailer to big for small short wheelbase vehicle.. I was so close to Being DEAD it made a believer out of me.
Anyway maybe someone can post what the owners manual says.

towing question
thanks for trying. I plan to pull a tent trailer which I'm sure it can handle quite well. I have pulled a 16' old heavy fishing boat numerous times and have rented a uhaul flat trailer and hauled a couple thousand pounds before. No problems.
I'd appreciate it if someone does have the answer from the owner's manual, that's what I'm looking for.
thank you

My 88 manual says quote: Super cooling and payload package number two are required with the 2.9L engine, automatic transmission and trailers over 2000 lb.
So basically Automatic transmission
Axel ratio-----Max GCWRlb----Trailer Weight lb---Max frontal area sq. Ft.
-- 3.73 ---------- 5500 ------------ 0-2000 -------------- (1)
I guess w/SC --- 8500 ------------ 2000-4500 ---------- 50
--4.10 ----------- 5500 ------------ 0-2000 -------------- (1)
I guess w/SC --- 9500 ----------- 2000-5000 ----------- 50
1. Trailer frontal area not to exceed base vehicle frontal area
I hope this helps since nothing lines up when posted

tow capacity
Thanks, this does help. My Bronc does have the factory tow pkg, so I'm pretty sure it can handle a small tent trailer. The one I'm considering weighs 1370 empty and has GVWR of 2000, so I should be okay with this it sounds like. Thanks for the info.
