well, I worked all day and got the coils, wristed arm, and drop trakbar bracket on. I think I might be making some drop radius arm brackets though. my coils bow forward a little.

hot damn that's alot of lift, or so it look's that way. are those 35's under there? also did you mount the front core support to th eframe? im thinking od scrapping the mount's i made in the front and just lttinf it be supported by the finders. i've seen a couple of ranger's and s-10's do this.

oh yeah more pic's

I think I am going to have to run a different set of radius arm brackets. the radius arms are really too far extended to have any flex and the springs are bowed forward from them being in full extension. I think this is because on a BII the front frame has more lift to the rails and that gives the brackets more length between the coil buckets and the spring perch. on mine the frame dosen't have that so the radius arms are maxed. I didn't realy want to run a drop bracket because of ground clearence but I'm thinking this will do what I need it to do.

the other problem I am having is the coils are a little long.......

there is a difference of about 4" between the front and rear. I know they will settle so I will probably take them out for a shakedown run like it sets and see what happens.
are those 35's under there?
yep

I still need to put on the drop pitman arm and I didn't get to the other junk.....wife came home from work and was already mad I was sill working  so I will try to get to the steering the next time I get a chance to work on it.

also got pissed when I took another look at the rear........banjo housing in a 79?

looked at the tag....... 3.00 front has a 3.45 some freakin #%$%@#%$%@#$ swaped the rear and had no idea what they were doing

on the good side I broke down a 9" that I had gotten for free about 2.5 years ago(the housing I want to run) and found a factory 31 spline tracklock and 3.50 gear. so I plane to put the housing in the Bronco and set up the 3.00 3rd with my 31spline spool and 5.13's and use the LS 3.50 3rd for the tow rig.

If your radius arms are maxed out I would think about swapping on the radius arm bracket from a bronco II to fix that. The angle it would be on would make it so it wasn't maxxed out like it is now. For the springs you could make you own mounts for the bottom or shim the stock ones to hold the springs right. Just a suggestion if you want to keep the clearnce. You may be able to take the stock radius arm mount off rotate it some and drill to bolt it back on. On mine instead of swapping to the F-150 bracket I just moved the Bronco II's back because of the angle the arms were at.

well, I kinda got lazy and just sleaved the arm and welded it :D

what I did was incerted the sleave in to the first piece and welded, then grinded the weld to a 90* angle and sleaved the other end and welded. that way you only see one bead but the sleave is welded to both pieces of metal. the sleave is about 4" long and is formed to fit very tight because it is the other incert from the ranger piece so..... all edges touch. this kinda makes the welds just holding it in the non-stressing direction of strain, basicly just holding the arms from slipping off the sleave.

I haven't had a chance to rotate it yet because the wife has had the key to the BII on her key ring and I didn't get a chance to get them this morning before she went to work but I will give it a go tonight and let you know.

I see what you mean about the radius arms.

What size tire are you going to run?

I will probably run the 35's for now to see how the suspension flexs then this summer I plan to lower the body a couple inches to make it look more propotional. with the 5.13's I can run over a 40 and still be in good shape.

rotated the steering yesterday and everything worked good. I have a tight clearence between the brake booster and the bolt the holds the steering arm to the column but it looks like it will work well.

it felt good getting one step closer to moving the truck on it's own power.

I see that you used the fullsize coil buckets. Did you get the shock mounts to? How come you used a different steering box? And last it almost looks like your coils are to tall for the application and thats why they are bowing. You may have to use a radius arm drop bracket. good luck!
