do all ford's full size transfer cases use the same trans-to-transfer case bolt pattern and spline?
I am ripping the C4/1350 out of my 5.0 ranger and going manual. I wanted a t19, but found a t18 4x4 85 F150 in the junkyard. The transfer case is gone, but the rest of it is there. I assume it had a 208 on it, but who knows as its gone. Theres also a 79 bronco in the same yard with a C6/205 on it. If i take the 205 off the 79, will it go right on the t18 in the 85? that would give me everything i need, except a flywheel. Correct me if i am wrong, but I dont think the 300 used the same flywheel as the 82 up 302, did it? thanks!
t-case adapters?
I'm not sure on the transfer case adapters. I think there's good chance they will interchange.
The 4x4 NP435's have a 31 spline output shaft, except for those mated to the dana 21 transfer case, which have 28 spline output.
The 2wd NP435's have a 28 spline output shaft, which is needed to mate to the dana 20 transfercase, like I run.
I believe the T-18 was freely interchanged with the NP435, so the above info may apply to the T-18 as well.... Just a guess on my part.
The I-6 300ci flywheel is nuetral balance, and would need to be balanced. Everyone says they bolt up to a 302, but I tried one and the holes didn't line up.
82 and up need the 50 oz imbalance, and pre 82 need the 28 oz imblance.

also the 2wd NP435 has a square bolt patern going to the tranny adaptor the 4wd NP435 has an a pattern.

if i were you iwould get a hold of advanced adapters and get an adapter plate to bolt a 205 to your t18. i did it on my last bronco and i will soon do it on the one im working on now. there is also a kit that takes the low range from a 203 and adds it to your 205 which gives you two low range gears. thats also made by advanced adapters but the cost is up there.
