I believe it is impossible to find a replacement lift gate handle and mechanism. So how can you fully restore a BII if that is flopping around?

I did some checking around the other day online, and I believe you are correct. I could not find a source for new products back there. I think the boneyard is going to be your best bet. Good luck.

It's hard to find a whole Liftegate, check your local junkyard. Shipping from out of state would be $$$. You can buy new struts on LMC Truck or even AutoZone , They also have the weather stripping, lock etc, The hardest thing to find are the latches on each side but they generally dont wear out. Ive had to grind and fiber glass mine, Sand and paint. It can be done. Hope this helps
