2021 Bronco

Post by Phillippi »

So who here is going for the new Bronco? I reserved a Badlands. I converted my reservation to an order on January 20. On February 2 I got an email from Ford saying that they received my order. Now the waiting game begins to see when it will arrive. Maybe summer, maybe 2022...

Ohh look at you, Mr. Lux package! :finger: Good to see you are still around. Are you a day one reservation?

I'm in! Day one reservation that was then incorrectly canceled after transferring dealers, and now hopefully fixed. So stressful, but my order is in.
Bronco BADLANDS 2 Door:
• 2.7L EcoBoost Engine
• 10-Speed Automatic Transmission
• 17" Black High Gloss-Painted Aluminum, with Warm Alloy Beauty Ring, Beadlock Capable Wheels
• LT315/70R17 BSW Mud-Terrain (M/T) Tires(35")
• Cyber Orange Metallic Tri-Coat
• Marine Grade Vinyl Seats
• Badlands with Mid Package
• Sasquatch™ Package
These KOH Bronco ride videos are really looking promising. They've been running those Broncos hard all day long for the last week.

I'm still out there wheeling the EB. Not sure how I can justify 2 Broncos. I've kinda been looking for a clean Bronco II. Got a new driver on the way! Here's one from today.

Yes I am still around. I try to visit once in a while. I was a day 2 reservation. I don't have a reason for waiting a day either. Busy working or some dumb stuff. Glad you got your order in too. Hopefully we get em sooner than later.

I miss my B2. There are only a handful of broncoIIs around lately, so yes fading away. I don't have nearly the time I wish I did. Your EB is badass as ever. Glad you guys got snow. This year has been horrible for snowpack in our mountains. Drivable snow before gates are closed are only about 3 feet max.

Those videos are great. Makes me not to wait anymore.

I was at the KOH and they were driving the new Bronco right pass my camp. The only problem is if you wanted to test drive the Bronco you had to do a PAS (breath analyzer) so I didn't do it. HAHAHA

For those of you who ordered a 2021, have you received any word on a build date?

I was a day 2 reservation and January 20, 2021 order date. Just got an email today stating build date the week of September 27, 2021. Ship date of 4-6 weeks after it is completed. Hopefully see it end of October or the first of November.

Wondering what others have received.

BTW, Matt, the Cyber Orange in person is SO COOL. So much better than the online pics and video show.

Did you order a soft top?

I'm caught up in the hard top delay. My original build WEEK was 8/23. Really sucks watching that come and go. I stopped by my dealer last week and he was showing a 7/13 build week. Pretty sure that won't stick. At this point mine will probably get built in nov/dec and delivered in 2022. Not happy about that.

A local dealer finally got their mannequin in so I was able to see one in person for the first time. It was a 4 door big bend 2.3L Auto with Sasquatch package. I took it for a short drive and overall I have to say it "feels" like a Bronco. The main thing going through my head was "this will do, this will do just fine!". I wasn't interested in the rapid red, but it instantly grew on me seeing it in person. I also got to see a white 2 door at my dealer, and while white was one of my top colors, I liked it less in person. Overall, I like the high contrast of the black trim parts on the cyber orange, and it's a bronco, so it needs to stand out a bit. It is a little out of my comfort zone though  Given the choice I probably would have opted for an olive drab.

Ya I test drove the same red Big Bend with sasquatch and 2.3L as well. I really liked it. I had the hard top on order, but when I heard of the delay, I changed to a soft top with the free hard top prep kit for future purchase (if I do get it later). That is the only thing I changed from my original order. What does your updated order tracker say about a new delivery date?

Red and Cyber orange have been really cool in person, which surprised me. The Cactus Gray is ok, and I didnt like the white. I have only seen 3 Broncos on the road and not at the dealer (ive seen 5 there) and non have been hard tops. I know that the tops have had issues, and I "heard" that only first editions will get them this year. Not sure how accurate that is though in real life.

My tracker just shows my order date. No email updates.

I haven't seen any Broncos in the wild yet. But I don't get a whole lot these days either. Doing the work from home thing. Overall I think there are very very few around here.

Here's a couple pics of the 2 door top at my dealer. I didn't see anything wrong with it.

From what I heard, the hard top issues are mostly the very cheap sound deadening on the inside. I have watch videos of it coming off and also just loosing a lot of lint type material. Oh well, I hope they get it figured out and the company contracted gets their shit together and hurry it all up. I really did want the hard top, but I did not want to wait until next year for it. I was surprised how quiet it was while driving the soft top. I didnt drive the freeway, but still was going 60-65 on the road with what I consider normal road noise for an SUV.

The MIC tops do have some serious issues. I'm of the belief the free headliner was an attempt to cover up some of the defects.

As far as noise goes, everything is quiet compared to my EB! But I agree it did seem very reasonable for a soft top.

I'm no audiophile, but I was really surprised how terrible the radio sounded. Maybe the 2 door will sound better.
