Bronco2 vs. Silverado 1500 vs 92' Dakota

Post by iceman21 »

So here's the question. I drive an 87" b2 with 31/10.50/15 wild country radial rvt's
My buddy drives a 06' silverado with 265/12.50/17 Goodyear wrangler a/t
My cousin drives a 92' Dakota with 31/10.50/15 bighorn m/t
Bronco2: 18" ground Clearance 150hp 200 fpt
Silverado: 10" ground Clearance 315hp ???fpt
Dakota: 11" ground clearance 245 HP 225fpt

(all three bonestock besides aftermarket exhaust on silverado)

We have an ongoing argument over who's vehicle will do better off road, specifically, trail, mud, and snow. So I came here to ask the experts. In your opinion, who's got the other two beat?

ford, dodge, chevy. Silverado are just junk off road and have to have a ton of work done to them to make them worth a damn they are heavy long, wide, and have bad angles, Your bronco II is small and nimble and can go a lot of places the others cant because of break over angles and approach and deparcher angles. The dakota would have you on side hills being a more stable rig as far as roll overs but it to is a low slung long truck. Both have IFS and you have TTB which is better off road, granted not as good as a solid axle but better then ifs. Driver makes all the deference in the world and any one of these rigs can out do the other with a good driver in one and a bad driver in another.

Well, after posting this we went out and the b2 destroyed life. Haha the silverado's driver blew out his rear end and the dodge knocked both his cv joints. So! B2 wins again!

Here's an old video me in my b2 going up against a jeep cherokee. Sorry about the weird music, it seemed funny at the time. It got me tons of hate comments from jeep owners.

Haha I've actually seen that video on YouTube. It's pretty sweet. Over the past few monthes we've been out playin and I've noticed it has a lot to do with tires in the slick stuff, but when it's not slick with my a/T's I can pretty much go anywhere, clay and ice just don't agree with my current tires. Gettin some toyo m/t soon so let y'all know after that

@mudhog1977 well I didn't go with the toyo's they were ok back order so I got Goodyear wrangler duratracs 31/10.50/15 only rub when REALLLY flexed out. Seriously tho, I need the 302... That 2.9 just plain and simple DOES NOT have the tq :wtf: to climb any hills. Most Hills I could easily do in two wheel drive traction-wise but I get half way up and it bogs out and dies... Then I gotta go into 4-lo just to have the much much needed TQ. :hmmm: Other then changing the gearing, anyone reading this let me know please if there are any upgrades for the 2.9 for bottom end tq... The reason I'm not switching just yet is because I just rebuilt my tranny and I don't wanna torch it with a 302 just yet. :redneck: Anyway Any advice welcome...
