gonna get crap for this BUT,look in a hayns manual chapter 1 page 2 and tell me what is says for lubricants for the manual trannys. both my 146ers have over 200,000mi with 80/90w. and dont make a noise. the M5's ues the ATF. the M5's have a oil slinger(some call it a oil pump, its not) thats why its need the thinner oil. the t-cases have a pump in um,they need the atf also

the pump in the tcase

Lookin at haynes manual... 83 - 87 sae 80w... 88 on, mitsu- sae 80w, mazda- mercon... Transfer case- 83 -87 dextron1, 88 on - mercon... Hope this helps a haynes manual is a good investment well worth the 20 bucks or so u pay for it I like haynes better than chiltons personally I cant remember how to tell the transmissions apart I think u can tell by the type of pan it has I think one is aluminum and one isn't

i think its a A4LD i no the transfer case runs atf but the tranny has a leak in the top were the shift comes out i belevie the shifter has some slop in it well its in gear. the leak looks like its 80w-90 to me due to the smell and that the oil is green. are the tranny and T-case supose to run the same oil or are they different in some models?
