Post by cscott9016 »

I scored some 33's really cheap at a garage sale today. I need to know how big of a lift i need and if i have to do any driveline work or if i have to regear, extend brake lines ect. any input or suggestions are appreciated.

Hello, nice score on the tires. You could just cut the wheel wells if you dont want a lift. If you dont want to cut the wheel wells, then you will need at least 4" lift to clear the tires. You could get a way with a 3" lift and some minor trimming. As far as extended brake lines, you will need them. I installed a 3" Duff lift and had to do mine. Regearing would be nice, but you might be able to get away with not. If you want to, my opinion is to go 4.56 front and rear.

Even with a 4in. lift I had to trim my front fenders. You will have to regear I have 4.56's, like Scott said they work well. If you regear don't forget to put those lockers in. Got mine off the Internet for around $250 each. Wasn't smart enough to put them in when I regear so had to go back and do it all over again. Just saying do it right the first time!

Who is Scott? I agree with Jim, do the R&P at the same time as the lockers. Waste of money if not done together.
