fuel pump

i was just wondering if i would be able to use a fuel pump from a fisrt gen b2 in a second gen. both are 2.9Ls. i have a second gen (90) and it has a bad fuel pump, and i got a free one from an 87 and was hoping i could use it and save some money

I'd like to say it would work but last time I guessed I was wrong. I like to use new parts on the fuel system. Heck, the last one worked for 20 years didn't it?

the 90 has one pump,in the tank,87 has 2

ok thanks guys. oh well looks like im forking out the money. and i would love to be able to say that the pump that is in it lasted 20 years, but before i got it the guy put one in but it was a used one
