Tail lights not working
Tail lights not working
so as i got on the interstae the other night, i noticed my tailights werent working. My flashers work and my brake lights work, but no running lights in the rear. the front runnign lights work and the headlights work. I do have a loose wire in the light switch that sometimes the dash lights dont wanna come on and apparently its the same wire for the runnign lights too. so if the dash lights arent on, the running lights arent on either. can anyone help me out here? my brotehr thinks its a loose ground

Re: Tail lights not working
Just happened to me. first dash lights dimmer quit had to push in out many times to kick in .Then while doing this every time for dash lights they totally quit then i noticed tail running lights also out. Got new light switch combo headlight one advan auto only 18 bucks my 87 had to pull trim and inst cluster to get at switch .After finding knob shaft release button refer to your replacement switch for local The rest was easy. Plus the bonus my dash lights are twice as bright when turned all the way up. Hope this helps Ford Man 45

I was just going to go to a junk yard to pull a new wiring harness plug and mdoule thing there for right at the switch cuz it got all kinds of fucked up, the tail lights, the little plug that goes into the module, it melted the plastic plug thing, so im going to gut the rest of them off and put new stuff in from a junk yard, until then i dont got ANY lights

I'd stay away from electric stuff at junk yards. You may be buying the same problem you are trying to fix. Junk yards are great places though. I'm looking for a trailer hitch receiver myself.joeyy wrote:I was just going to go to a junk yard to pull a new wiring harness plug and mdoule thing there for right at the switch cuz it got all kinds of fucked up, the tail lights, the little plug that goes into the module, it melted the plastic plug thing, so im going to gut the rest of them off and put new stuff in from a junk yard, until then i dont got ANY lights
