Engine swap
Engine swap
Greetings everyone. I'm doing my first engine removal on my 84 B2 2.8 (I guess) and I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. Can someone tell me where the bolts are located that attach the transmission to the engine. I've removed the bolts on either side of the engine, the nuts for the motor mounts, and the exaust connections on either side of the engine. The motor will lift but will not disengage the tranny. I'm thinking I missed a few bolts but can't seem to locate them. The Haynes manual I have makes it seem pretty easy, but doesn't give me a diagram of where the bolts are. I'd apprecite your help. Thanks.

Re: Engine swap
theres 6 bell bolts,2 starter bolts and 4 converter bolts. jack the engine up a little, block up the tranny and wiggle the engine around a little. its stuck on the guide pins
Re: Engine swap
Thanks for the info. I was able to pull my engine. Hopefully I can have it ready to put back next weekend.
