Bronco II and Mustang II ... 2.8L

Post by rustycobraii »

Hi everyone. I have a 85 Bronco II and a 77 Mustang Cobra II, both with 2.8L Ford engines. I was wondering if anyone knew if these are the same, and are interchangeable. Thanks!!

So it will bolt in then? I just know from experience that not all motors are the same because of size. Take for example, Honda. You have the 1.6L Motor. There are more than one type, and they wont all bolt right in.

And all intakes and everything are the same? And would a 4.0 drop in as well, as I have read that they are the same tranny bolt pattern

2.8,2.9 and the 4.0 all share the same bell bolt pattern.

From what I understand the only difference is the cam bearings are different (smaller) on the Mustang.
