2.9 Fuel injection

ok got an 87 BII eddie baur 2wheel drive auto with the 2.9 i first problem no power to the inline fuel pump fixed that. still wont start got spark im thinkn that the injectors are not working because while cranking it over a fuel line poped off the inline filter guessing to much fuel pressure. im going to check the injectors but was wondering if anyone has ran into this problem before.

also im not big on fuel injection electrical. my 84 2.8 is easy. o and also a rat made a mess of the wires on the 2.9.

squirt some gas in the intake to see if it runs. there two pumps

it half runs half backfires with starting fluid it is in time i do have spark i have fuel pressure it cranks but no start

Are you referring to the stock in-line filter? Tell us more, when did it run last? How old is the gas? Have you done anything to it lately, tune up or such?

yes the factory inline filter it has 2 of them a canister stile and the quick connect one that is after the high pressure pump and that is where the line poped of the filter. the guy i bought it from said it ran when he parked it sat up for about 6 months or at lest that is what the guy told me . the gas was bad but i drained it all out. i changed plugs wires cap and rotor both fuel filters the fuel rail is getting pressure i poped the check valve on it to relieve pressure i got spark fuses are all good checked them with a test light. im gettin power to all the relays on the fender by the starter solenoid sometime this weekend im going to get a noid light to check injectors.

got the plug wires on right?? if everything is right even with bad gas in the tank its gonna run good when you squirt GAS in the intake cause its running on that gas. if its poppin/back firing,somethin rong
