Just Thinking....
Ok, I HAD a 3.5" TTB lift and I liked the height. Now If I go with a 3.5" duff for EB and a 5.0L how much over STOCK should I get (approx)? I dont really want to go too much over what I had before the swap. Any ideas? If I got stock height EB coils and used them would I get enough lift? Maybe its a stupid question, but I am tired....
with stock springs I have heard people say 3" of lift. they are stiffer so I dont think it would sag to much less then that. if you go that rought you will not have the flex that the duff springs will give you.
I can't remember if people are getting 6" with the duff 3.5's or not but if thats the case I would think that would drop an inch or maybe 2. just because of the weight of the motor so 4"-5"
reguadless of the height I would go with the duff springs and just adjust the rear to match the front.

I initially got about 8" of lift, it was 4" taller than my 4" skyjacker lift. I believe it settled to about 6". You need that much lift for clearance between the axle and engine crossmember. As it is, I had to trim the cossmember for clearance. Or I suppose you could make use of some agressive bump stops, but that defeats the purpose of the swap.
Trust me though......you want every bit of lift the duff 3.5's provide. It will look fine with your tires, and will flex awesome!

To answer you question again phillippi.....the main difference is price and color among the popular springs.
You're a little hung up on the TTB stuff where the quality of coil varied greatly among mall kits.

Ok now thats what I wanted to hear. I know of the crap that was out there for TTB and didnt know if that same crap was out there for the SAS coil. If that is the case then Duff all the way. I didnt want some stiff coils that would jar my teeth loose.Nobody wrote:
