New Bronco owner - a few ?

Post by Foolio »

Hi guys, I sold my summer project car and I picked up an 87 5sp 4x4 Bronco and figured hey lets start a fun 4x4 project. Bought it for 400 bucks with 277km. Its got the usual rust I want to cover with some flares, brand new heater core and exploder rear leaves I just put in today. I have a question though - for a parts truck would the 85-92 ranger suffice? as I would like to replace the engine, would the v6 ranger or explorer work for now until I found a 302 to throw in. Need a new door, all new electrical.

To sum it up I heard the 87 broncos are identical mechanically to the 87 ranger. and is there anything I should keep a close eye on.

Thanks guys.

Rangers are the same but different, The broncos have a few different interior lights and a rear wiper, there's a lot of stuff they share. I'm not sure what year they switched from the Dana 28 to the Dana 35. Somebody here knows,(ranger dave?). :canada: :redneck:

I just picked up a set of explorer leafs today and was wondering what probs you encountered on the install? Did you combine the bronco's leafs with the explorers? Did you replace the bushings and how difficult was that?
