Clutch engage point

Hey I just picked up a 5 speed BII and the clutch does not engage until the pedal is almost all the way off the floor, it still drives but is obiviously is a inconvienence. The clutch does not slip or make noise but I am pretty sure it should engage before that. Just wondering if this is adjustable or if a new clutch is required. any advice would be great. Thanks

i just replaced the clutch in my 84 b2 and yea my clutch is sponge. dont know if i need to bleed the system or what.
