i was cleaning and i found this broken wire, i think its a sensor of some sort.
can anyone tell me what it is, and what it does, and approx how much a new one would cost? just lookin to learn.
its on a 2.9L, 1987 BII manual 5 speed overdrive

My guess is the backup lights switch.
