my tire decisions

Post by MrD »

Well I decided I will not lift my 84 BII.
I started thinking about many things:
for now I will put some reasonable tires, drive it, and see if I like dong back road excursions.

I found some Goodyear Wranglers at walmart I can get 5 tires in a
237/75r/15 for about 440.00.

Is this a good tire: driving paved roads, Nevada back roads mostly dirt.

Same ole same ole $$ is the key plus need to have some for

Well, I've been running 235/75-15s on my BIIs for years, on and off road, mud and snow, commuting 140 miles a day. I was using Cooper Discoverys and they did well, but when they got a bit worn, I found that Wally World had these Goodyear Wranglers that they contract from Goodyear. They come in only the one size and I got the first set for $50 each. I have them on the Broncos and had a set put on my son-in-law's Grand Cherokee. These tires run well on the interstate in all weather, are quiet and work well off road. I don't think you could possibly get a better tire for the money. Here's the pics of my BIIs with them on.

Was just at Wally World today. The price has dropped on those Wranglers to $55 each. Get 'em while they're hot!
