thus far I have been making it safe and etc...
new plugs & wires, new distributor cap, new rotor, new fuel and air filter, new pcv, new belts all 3, had the carb rebuilt to original specs (what the company says they did)
I struggled with emissions test burning lots of hydrocarbons.
The engine idles great once she warms up. I can pull 65-80 mph on the highway if relatively flat and this is with 31's,
Climbing hills I have to pull out of overdrive and into 4th gear which I assume is normal with this little 2.8L
Lately when I start the BII if it has been cold overnight she smokes when I am warming her up. I have to keep the gas pedal a little depressed to help her idle, which one she is warm it idles fine and the smoke seems to decrease.
The smoke seemed to be a blackish color but once warmed it seemed to decrease and was hard to see.
The past few days I have noticed black soot type material on the driveway from the exhaust and today when I first started her and let her idle on her own I could see black smoke out of the tailpipe. It is getting embarrsing for me to run it infront on the neighbors.
It didn't look constant but like puffs of it coming out Shocked
Any hints,
thanks Mr D
