1986 BII idling sporadically
1986 BII idling sporadically
2.9 V6 5 speed. It will lope at idle, but give it gas it is fine. Could that be a TPS problem? Bad or out of adjustment. How do you adjust the TPS.

have you pulled the codes from the computer? autozone or advanced auto parts does it for free. if there is no codes i think i have heard the problem from the emissions system, egr, catylitic converters, or o2 sensor i heard causes this, vacume leaks also

Yes I agree
I already have the EGR vavle off and cleaning it. I will be replacing all vacuum lines this week end.

if you don't go pull codes first you might be waisting your time...
to many things cause problems like this and a 5 min. check will point you in the right direction

Tis a shame they are not up here in the northwest.
If they were here I could put my newly acquired profession type scan tool to work.
This tool is Kool, it is not one of the cheapish ones you see in the auto parts store. This is a genuine professional tool with bi directional communication it not only covers OBDII and the new CAN protocol, It has the ability to exercise various components like EGR and such. The tool has special adapters so I can do OBDI protocols like ford EEC IV and GM 82-96 on. I was using it today to try and solve an intermittent fault..
I bought this off the estate of a friend that just died and I got it for 10 cents on the dollar....
So for all you Northwest people I have the tools and I work cheep....
