Cam lifters

Post by greenmachine89 »

I have been told by a few people that I need to change out my lifters in my 91 ex because of the ticking i'm getting. Now can i just change the lifters that are bad or should i just change them all? also don't i have to change the cam at the same time?

you can just change the bad lifters, but if you are already in there whynot just change them all.

and no you don't have to swap the cam at the same time.

i agree you don't HAVE to change the cam, but if you look at the face of the lifters you will see a wear pattern on them, the cam has the exact same oposite pattern on it. my point is that your new lifters are going to ride on a worn cam. no a perfered thing to do but it will probably work.

Well cancell the whole idea! The engine to fix would cost more than one I found for only 450 bucks! :D The engine I have right now needs 4 lifters also. I totaled it all up and it would well over 500 to fix the one I have now, so taking the one out to put another in. Oh well thanks for the help!
